AuScope Grid Roadshow

The 2014 AuScope Grid Roadshow is taking place in Perth (on September 9), Sydney (on September 10) and Adelaide (on September 11). This free event will focus on the AuScope Grid infrastructure which gives you federated access to nationally distributed government geoscience data via SISS.

There are two parts to the roadshow:
1. in the morning: a high level executive overview showing what AuScope services
2. in the afternoon: some demos taking a look at some of the more technical details and ways to access the AuScope infrastructure, including the datasets available through the AuScope portal and OGC webservices, the Virtual Labs framework for e-research and pySISS, our python API for accessing SISS services.

There is also a developer day, which will operate simultaneously in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth on the Friday of that week (September 12). This will be a more informal session with the AuScope developers on hand, so you can dig a little deeper into how to use the AuScope infrastructure, and look at how you might be able to integrate it into your existing data analysis routines and tools.

If you’re interested you can sign up here. Just click on the relevant location (Perth, Sydney or Adelaide), and then click the big green register button to sign up. Part day attendance is welcome, so if you can’t attend the whole day please refer to the full program to determine which sessions will be of most interest to you.

Attendance is free but numbers are needed for catering purposes.
